ABOUT ME

I used to be a scientist in my previous life, worked for a big software company, while trying to find ways to spend time on my other loves. I had a dance company I directed. I took singing lessons for the fun of it.
A few years ago, I quit my IT job to start writing. I just finished an MFA in creative writing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.I am currently working on my novel, a few short stories and my poetry.

I try to live an uncluttered life - except for filling it up with books, people and memories. I own no car, no cable, no watch. But I am punctual, do make plans and stick to them, usually walk, bike or take public transportation, prefer live theater and performances to canned entertainment.

PHILOSOPHY

At various points in my life I have wanted to be a magician, a chef, an author, a detective - a poet, a scientist, a photographer, a mathematician - an actor, a programmer, an architect, a dancer - a singer, a teacher, a choreographer, a painter. Like skins I have tried a few of them on, a few I have shed, a few I lust after, a few I may never get around to trying, a few have become a part of me. Life is long, there is always time for new skins, time for second chances.

I've hosted people at my place in San Francisco, met some wonderful people in various places, and been hosted a couple of times.

兴趣

Things that make me happy - the scent of jasmines, crisp cool air and a shining sun, a beautiful line of prose or poetry, saturated colors. I also enjoy browsing in bookshops, long walks in new cities and old haunts, cooking, digging into my favorite foods, working out, listening to music (classical, international, Indian film songs), following my favorite directors, authors and choreographers, reading books and poetry, hanging out with friends, dabbling in writing, painting and other acts of creativity.
