Interestingly enough I was actually born on an island called Parakeese in an Amerindian village in Guyana, I still consider this place my home. I now live in Georgetown, which is the capital of Guyana. When I was 21 I made one of the best decisions of my life which was to volunteer in Romania through the European voluntary service (EVS). Through this I was able to meet the most amazing people, get a taste of a completely different culture while educating people about my country and our culture as well.

When planning a trip, the biggest drawback is usually the cost for accommodation, so offering a place to stay for free definitely lightens the budget for the traveller. I also love meeting new people and love the idea of showing them hidden gems in my country.
