Hello there! I am not sure who I am and how to describe myself, but I'll try my best :")

So my name is Denis and I am obv from Russia, 26. I like coffee, 19th century trains and finding/collecting obscure things. I am a student of historical university am an old-fashion geek. I guess it brings everything you can think of with that (in terms of hobbies) - painting miniatures, board/video games, collecting figures etc. I used to adore cinema and spend days in movie theaters, but it became really difficult since covid and war (sanctionts and all). Same with traveling, me and my parents, we used to travel a lot before all that, though they prefered to stay in resort hotels and didn't really visited non-tourist places that much. So I traveled on my own! I was kinda without money, so traveled via hitch-hiking and crashing on a few night in my pals places or used other cheap options. I usually traveled around Russia using vk(social network) and didn't really need couchservice, but I am trying to travel more outside the country of mine (or maybe even move out).
For some time I have been thinking about moving out from Russia. For many reasons including oppressive and brutal anti-democratic goverment regime, an escalation of war in Ukraine and other reasons. I participated in activism before, but it feels to dangerours and life-threatening now, so I stopped. Well it's too sad to talk about it :{

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like travelling a lot in my own country, I feel very open-minded and feel a great desire for meeting new people, finding out new things in the world and just seeing how other people live. I hope to find some new friends ;p it's one of the points, right? I guess so, at least!

I also hosted a lot of people in Russia, even when I rented an appartment. I still do it from time to time, but many of my friends have left the country and places (internal russian social groups like couchserfice) have collapsed... so not really these days. Well, maybe it will change, will see.

I travel with my girlfriend these days, so we are a pair. I will leave it to her to describe herself, but she is very cute and smoll.
