Hi! I am Denise, a college student (I am studying Biology but my dream is to become a doctor, so maybe next year I'll join Medicine University) who likes a lot to travel and have new experiences. I've been an AFS' exchange student for 1 year in Thailand (where a family hosted me and I had to attend the high school there), and then an au pair for 1 month in Turkey in Istambul (where I had to take care of two children aged 2 and 9). I think that both these experienced taught me a lot and helped me to become more independent and responsible, but also I had the possibility to improve my knowledge of english and learn some basic thai.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always liked to travel and I think that the best way to visit a place is being hosted by a person who lives in that place to discover not only the 'touristic places' but also all those tucked-away corners, known only by those who were born there or have been living there for a while. I also like to make new friends all around the word, try new dishes and tastes, have some fun time in an unknown place to find myself immersed in a new culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kind of music, btw my favorite singer/bands are Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Adele, Coldplay, Sufjan Stevens, Allevi, Caparezza, Cesare Cremonini and many others.
I really like Harry Potter's movies and books (since I was a child); I also love Sherlock Holmes' stories (in general detective stories). I do like "Call me by your name", "Howl's Moving Castle", "Mr. Nobody".. I also love to watch anime series (such as "Steins;Gate", "Mirai Nikki" or "Death Note"), that's why I am trying to learn Japanese.
My favorite books are "The picture of Dorian Gray" by O. Wilde, "Interpretation of dreams" by S.Freud, "1Q84" by H. Murakami, "Poor folk" by F. Dostoevskij...
