About Me

CURRENT MISSION

right now finding couches in Lisbon, London and Paris! My first trip to Europe!

ABOUT ME

I am easy-going and talkative and I really enjoy being around people most of the time. I am married with 2 kids who go to elementary school. I am part of our PTA, a Salvation Army volunteer, a book club and a babysitting coop participant. I like down-to-earth people, people with strong opinions but who also respect different points of view. I try to be kind to our planet and to the people who cross my path. I have a very happy life with my family and friends. I always spend my Summers in Brazil with my kids, visiting family. I am a hot weather person rather than a snow person, but I'd move anywhere to stay with my family. Oh, and I love reading, too!

PHILOSOPHY

If we can make other people's life easier, why make it harder?

Be nice to the world and the world will be nice to you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new here, just getting started... I can't believe it took me so long to learn about this great concept that is couchsurfing, in which you skip the impersonal hotel in exchange for a few days making new friends while you get "inside info" from locals. I love it! I want to make good friends while I go out on trips and get to show a little bit of the Dallas metroplex area to those visiting this area! I can also show a piece of Brazil when I am there for Summer!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none, I've just joined! Eager to surf and host, though... sounds like fun!

Interests

I really like engaging in conversation with interesting people. I love reading. My husband and I go scuba diving and we love it. Been to caves and deep wrecks that were amazing... I also like volunteering at the Salvation Army and at my kids' school. I like dancing but don't get to do it very often.

Music, Movies, and Books

Brazilian MPB, music from the 70's, 80's and 90's. Nothing too techno... Books? So many it's hard to choose. The Night Circus was a good one, The Paris Wife was another... there are so many! Movies? Anything fun or inspiring. Dolphin Ttale made an impression on me and my kids, so I thought to mention it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to Central Africa, to one of the poorest countries in the world, Burundi. It was a life-changing experience. I also went to see the gorillas up in the mountains of Rwanda. Awesome. I love scuba-diving and have done cave diving and wreck diving, too. Always amazing to see what the fish and other water-living creatures are up to!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like sharing what I know from Brazil. I also like sharing what I've learned while rasing my kids. I like sharing my life living abroad. I love to learn how to cook simple and tasty food. I like to live a more alternative life, in the sense that I embrace acupuncture, homeopathy and all the therapies that treat our bodies as a whole rather than pieces, and people who share the same view interest me so I love listening to what they have to say.
