Overview
About Me
By day, I’m a physician practicing medicine with a focus on mindfulness. I provide door-to-door care for my patients, which allows me to be truly present with them and learn about their lives. This work has taught me the art of being a respectful guest and a keen listener.
One of the most transformative chapters of my life was as a graduate student at Brown University in Providence—the liveliest, most chill campus I've ever experienced. There, I bridged my medical background with public health and mindfulness. Beyond the classroom, I’ve traveled extensively across both US coasts, met incredible mentors, and even completed a seven-day silent retreat.
I’m admittedly a little shy at first—the "quiet observer" type. However, once we break the ice, my humorous side comes out and I become quite a chatterbox. I travel for authentic local experiences: sharing life stories, discovering hidden hiking trails, and leaning into the daily rhythms of a new city.
My Vibe & Habits
I am high-energy and stay sharp with a daily "dose" of movement. You’ll usually find me in a local park or a quiet corner of the house practicing yoga, calisthenics, or resistance training.
I’m also a bit of a language nerd. I truly believe the gateway to any culture starts with two things: learning to say "Hello" and mastering the local "bad words." I love the "Aha!" moment of nailing a difficult pronunciation, and I’m always down to exchange slang or stories over a meal.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to see the world from the perspective of the locals! I’ve met so many wonderful people during my travels and had the pleasure of hosting some of the nicest guests when I lived in the US. I believe every traveler is a walking library, and I’m here to learn from your experiences and share some of mine.

• The "Zen" Toolkit: I can guide you through secular mindfulness, meditation, or a yoga flow. I can also share what it's like to spend 7 days in total silence!
• Health & Wellness: As a physician, I’m happy to chat about metabolic wellness or how to stay "bio-optimized" while traveling.
• Travel Intel: I can give you the "real" local recommendations for Indonesia (from hidden jungles to street food) and Providence, Rhode Island.
• Language Exchange: I’ll help you with Indonesian or Mandarin—and teach you the most useful (and colorful) slang.

Music, Movies, and Books
• Music: Big fan of 80s and 90s nostalgia—MLTR, Roxette, and ABBA are my go-to's.
• Books: I mostly read about Buddhist philosophy and self-help/personal growth.
• Movies: I am a total sucker for rom-coms! If it stars Julia Roberts, I’ve probably seen it twice.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ask me about the time I almost hit my decompression limit (NDL) while looking for hammerhead sharks in Yonaguni, Japan. I was at 43m and looked at my computer to see only 32 seconds left—an intense, adrenaline-filled reminder to stay mindful!
