About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Getting used to being over 60 :D - wanting to meet up with other open-hearted people, especially travellers my own age travelling alone. Especially crazy women.
ABOUT ME
Way to little space to write about me, but I'll try. I like meeting new people, especially travellers and others who seek new knowledge and are curious about the world, as I am. I love good conversation, good food, nature.
When I travel, I prefer meeting local people, or like-minded people... I love combining travelling and giving lectures or teaching Danish culture, or education, or consulting on autisme etc. I am a teacher of children with autisme.
Other than that, I love binge-watching good series. Star Trek, Castle, Strange Ways but especially Grace and Frankie. I can relate :) I grew up in Northern California with all the good times...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So I am opening my home to some hours of impressions from the great world of "out of the box" travellers. I know most of you travellers will be much younger than me, but think of the few "elders" who would find it OK to couchsurf. I also like to cook my home country's great, dairy ridden food. Am also a part time vegetarian, and maybe we could teach each other some god receipies..

I expect to start couchsurfing this summer, which I hope to spend in The USA - in Chicago and Seattle and in between I will be taking a scenic train trip on "The Empire Builder" .... sounds wonderful to me!

Interests

I notice things. When travelling in landscapes, I notice birds, empty houses, animals special trees - and just generally enjoy soaking in the surroundings. When in cities, I love people-watching. Sit on a sidewalk cafe, coffee and cigarettes - maybe a nice cake... and watch people, traffic - whatever...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple of years ago I sat on my friend's old BMW motorcycle on a 3 day drive from Denmark to southern Portugal.. To join in the crazy fun at Farao Bike Meet. I was 59 years old, and my body was aching pretty much from sitting on the back of the bike. And the weather changed quite a bit, from cool Denmark to rather hot south Portugal :) - and me in Biker dress (hot, well cushioned pants and jacket, and gloves, boots, helmet - ) quite hot.. especially when driving through "the frying pan of Europe" - middle of Spain... A tough trip - but it was a great trip that I will never forget.....
Afterwords, I treated myself to a 3 day arts, wine and good food holiday in beautiful Lissabon - and a plane home :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversations. Share information about Danish, Scandinavian and some European history, and contemporary politics. I like to sing, I like to eat and I like to observe. I am a teacher and a "know it all" - because I love to learn.

I could make a lovely meal, I also am a part time vegetarian, so have some good dishes... And am also a pretty good cook of traditional Danish food.
