ABOUT ME

Hi, My name is Dennis, 25 year old and I study computer science here in Utrecht, where I live as well.

As most couchsurfers I love the outdoors, traveling and meeting new people, else i wouldnt be here in the first place.SchoolI study computer science in the direction of Game Development. I have also studied game design. In the coming years I would love to do all sorts of game projects abroad so if you know some place where they need/want people like me, let me know! ^_^UtrechtNext to my study I am a member of a student society here in the center of Utrecht named Biton =D Each year around the end of august we organize a festival (Biton Open Air) in and around our society building which is at Lucasbolwerk (near Janskerkhof and the Stadsschouwburg) If you're in the neighborhood, you should definitely check it out!WorkI used to sell coffee and tea on the train - (railcatering), but now I'm trying make a some money creating websites.(some of my) HobbiesNext to traveling as much as i can (hitchhiking mostly) I'm also a bit of a fire artist - I can breath fire!I used to drum in a indie/rock cover band for about a year, but we went our separate ways when we started with our studies.I also love to surf, wake- and snowboard.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offer you all my couch - and other parts of the room where someone could sleep - and I would love to show you around Utrecht whenever I have the time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

December 2011: 5 months active now, and loving it!Some of the amazing experiences I've had so far:- I hosted 6 people, all very nice and interersting in their own way- I've started my own weekly meeting: the Weekly Pubcrawl Meeting here in UtrechtPlanning on:- Travelling, soon!- Going to the US (Florida) in Februari. Definitely going to check out the couchsurfing community there, maybe join/host some events!
May 2012: I can't believe it's may already. Time really flew by the last couple of months.. but, I've been to Florida in Februari where I had my first surfing experience at Brendon's place in Saint Petersburg. =D Unfortunately I've been unable to host the pubcrawl up until now but I hope to start again somewhere in June, after my last exams.

August 2012: I can't believe it's already been more then a year! The summer was amazing, I did a solo roadtrip to brussels, paris and hamburg! Couchsurfed at Rafael's place in brussels but after that I realized that I had to send out more requests to be able to surf at the other 2 cities, so I stayed in hostels. But, I met so many great people on events and meetings! Incredible! Also been hitchhiking to Barcelona with Nataliya, it's such a beautiful city!

I like al kinds of music, but I mostly listen to everything between singer-songwriter pop and rock:
Damien Rice, Scott Matthew, Bright Eyes, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, David Gray, Peter Gabriel, Death Cab, Radiohead, Talking Heads, Eddie Vedder, Queen, Alter Bridge, Tallest Man on Earth, and many many more!

My favorite movies: Lord of the Rings, Avatar, Eternal Sunshine and the Spotless Mind, the Science of Sleep, Wall-e and many more.

My favorite books: Robin Hobb, Lord of the Rings, The Northern Lights, Map of Bones, Labyrinth, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies and also, many more

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

If I must choose one thing, I would say the hitchhiking trip to budapest summer 2009. Together with Jasper (a friend from high school) we met loads of random people including dutch hippies in an orange minivan!
I've also been to the Canigou mountain in the Pyrenees with random people where we spend a night underneath the stars.
