I work as a development officer for a college, which takes me on the road frequently. Additionally I am an artist/painter, with a long term goal to be able to transition into painting full time. I live in a farmhouse on about 35 acres a couple miles from the village of Canton.

I am especially interested in using this as a means to meet other people involved in creative endeavors. I use that term broadly; artists, writers, musicians of course...but inventors, scientists, mathematicians...I can guarantee I will find you fascinating.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really hope to one do be the couch surfer but I recognize the likelihood of doing so is less now than it was when I first signed up several years ago. I still enjoy the daydream at least and perhaps one day. Realistically I'm much more likely to participate as host.

I haven't couch surfed yet, but I had an amazing hitchhiking adventure. Family and friends had their reservation. After I was home when they asked how it went, I could only think one thing. Whatever the opposite of the word cynical is, was exactly how I felt. The world is full of a lot of amazing strangers.
