About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Hitchhikers are people too :)
ABOUT ME
Someone who is happier outside. Fortunate enough to have been born on a farm in the country. My earliest memories were making friends with animals and living free wandering around, exploring like most kids do. Getting back to nature and learning more about plant based foods, herbs, flowers, organic healing properties has been a big interest of mine. This continues to expand with my travels as I am introduced to more cultures and cuisines around the world. Like most, I love listening to music and could sit for hours sharing songs with my fellow couchsurfers. But writing and storytelling is what intrigues me most and is why I am so interested in the Indigenous Australian culture. I am currently collecting stories from the incredible people I've met on my path. Suffice to say, if you have a story to tell then I'm already listening :)
PHILOSOPHY
The world without borders, we'll get there one day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a friendly act and I like making friends. Traveling the world I am curious about other countries to mine and the people living in them. Hostels are not the true experience for me.
Interests
History, myths and magic. Learning about countries besides my own (Australia and Italy).
- storytelling
- discovering new cultures
- journaling
- cooking together
- sharing music
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything that encourages me to dance but I am really open to anything these days. Plus, I am bad with defining music genres...
Movie: I just recently saw some silent footage from Andy Warhol's personal collection of video reels which had me mesmerized.
Books: Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell - Susanna Clarke
The Master and Margarita - Mikhail Bulgakov
Marching Powder - Rusty Young
But for some reason I enjoy reading anything about India, you cannot go wrong there in my opinion :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This one day I climbed a mountain in Sardinia, Italy (Isola Tavolara) alone, no one believed me when I returned as it was extremely dangerous and the weather conditions changed... At the top I cried tears of triumph and made a promise to myself from that moment on - to take risks. It was that ecstatic state of mind where happiness supersedes fear!
Teach, Learn, Share
Still learning about the Indigenous Australian culture, its vast and full of generational knowledge that speaks of this land and how things came to be.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some interesting travel stories. The weird teachings of Australian slang. My Mother's traditional Italian cooking skills. Incredible travel stories and the communities in which I've lived - Miniyerri, Ngukurr, Pukatja and Titjikala. The intelligence of indigenous people and their language. And many laughs!
