Trying not to blink before all the wonderful memories of the future are made & gone.
My name is Chloe, but if you're feeling lazy, please feel free to call me Chlo. :)
Oover the last year I have managed to achieve two great things: live in England but also backpack around Europe for two months. And while I still may be broke from it, it was worth every single cent!
My ultimate goal in life is to converse with a native in their fluent tongue, starting with Japanese. This may sound geeky, but I genuinely enjoy studying & learning new things that can be added to the 'experiences' list. They say a smile says a thousand words - that is the attitude that I keep with me when presented with challenging situations.
There is no right or wrong answer about how one chooses to live their life, however the hardest part is letting go of the fear of how others perceive your choices. Admittedly, I occasionally find that I struggle with this at times too but am learning to rectify it slowly.
I myself am not a religious being, but by the same token, I'm not adverse to it. Many people have found happiness and peace in their beliefs which is truly inspiring. If it brings people together & makes their lives worthwhile, then who has the right to argue otherwise?
Everyone has the chance to get along. It's all about taking the opportunity to pause, introduce yourself, and listen intently when someone in turn reveals themself to you. If two people do so, a genuine friendship will be sure to follow.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have become a member a year ago but life managed to get in the way of getting more involved than I would have liked, so I haven't had the chance to participate yet. However I have decided to stay in Melbourne permanently so will be keeping my eyes open for ways I can mingle & interact with CouchSurfing's many people & events!
I have been lucky enough to stay in Paris through CouchSurfing, and seeing as I have heard so many positive experiences I am hoping to create more experiences as soon as possible!
Walking & bike riding; both daytime & nighttime; reading anything I can get my hands on; podcasts; Australian Football League; the Lord of the Rings & Game of Thrones; any dish with rice in it; silly dancing; the beach.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love aspects of every genre of music, from indie to pop to jazz & classical. But my favourite type of music would have to be electronic and drum & bass. I am also super impressed by those who are able to play a musical instrument - it is wonderful to listen to live music!
I like to reserve comedy and action for my movies, and romance and thrillers for my books. If I watch a thriller movie I NEED to know how it all ends. Otherwise I fear I will go insane. Books are a different story though, because I can visualize how I hope it turns out in the end.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I cannot tell you my excitement when I glimpsed Europe for the first time from the window of an aeroplane. I had never been that far around the world, so for me, getting there was an achievement in itself.
One thing I am truly thankful for is my parents taking me along on their backpacking adventures through Thailand when I was a lot younger. Yes, we saw the gorgeous beaches and towns. But it taught me more importantly about culture, beauty, livelihood, the differences between riches & poverty, how to swim, meeting people different to myself, and loving the places that I came across.
Teach, Learn, Share
I may not be qualified or anything, but if I can help anyone with their English practice, I would be more than happy to put my hand up in any way that I can! My French & German is minimal, but with a few phrases here & there, we can definitely make something work. I can also talk about Australian things in detail such as Aussie Rules Football, kangaroos, the vastness of the country, and even politics (if you don't get too bored).
