ABOUT ME
My life has been spent honing many hard skills, working various jobs, and long periods of both workaholism and funaholism.
Many of my passions and things that I believe strongly about have been shaped by living a life across an entire spectrum. For example, I've worked at a nuclear power plant and served in the military. Now I live a very eco/sustainable lifestyle and am against war and violence.
Through these experiences I've formed very strong opinions about my lifestyle but am easy going and prefer to share my life with others and am open minded enough to enjoy most things!
My focus is on my local community first and foremost with a global perspective and ultimate leaning. Through this I enjoy fostering community minded relationships both locally and abroad. Though I'm far from where I'd like to be and occasionally too self reliant.
One thing I really enjoy is meeting new people. It is refreshing to be exposed to new stories and ideas.
I am comfortable doing anything so don't feel pressure to go out of your way to accommodate me, I can fit in wherever.
I am always trying to find ways to continue in my minimalistic/DIY lifestyle. Because of this you will hardly ever see me buying or using processed foods.
*update* All of my food now comes from local dumpsters and my garden. Typically plenty of food on hand to share and enjoy!
*update #2!* since moving to Denver I now buy all my food like a normal American though I have many fond memories from my dumpster diving and gardening days.

Interests
I enjoy just about everything! Meeting new people and traveling mostly(hence why I am on CS).
I am very much into road cycling and dabble in triathelons.
Cooking is my main domestic skill and I enjoy trying it out on anyone so if you do end up crashing, chances are you will get to enjoy at least one cooked meal. I can do vegan, organic, gluten free, accommodate a broad range of allergies... mostly homemade from scratch. You won't go hungry here!
As of Spring 2013 I've been dumpster diving for at least 95% of my food. I can't believe the quality of stuff I've been able to find and am eating better than I've ever done in my life! I will gladly share my food with you and as is the case with most past surfers, I'll take you on a dive.
Other interests are:
Biking, gardening, running, camping, hiking, taking random road trips, slacklining, hosting dinners and breakfasts (need to start some lunches!), biking, sustainable living and random adventures. Did I mention biking?

Music, Movies, and Books
Books are amazing! Often I don't read as much as I would like to.
The topics span a wide range with some of my favorites titles being:
11/22/63, Your Money or Your Life, Devil in the White City, and many more.
Please feel free to recommend any you think are great!
My musical tastes often lead toward bands like Lord Huron, Judah and the Lion, and similar. However, I enjoy listening to everything except for harder music (i.e. Metal or heavy rock). And I cherish finding new music - so introduce me to your favorites!
There are some movies I've seen but most of my friends give me a bit of grief for not having seen several of the classics and popular new movies. Mostly I don't make time to watch movies and especially tv. But I'm not opposed to the occasional film and can enjoy the break and downtime that watching something provides.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done many things that have created long lasting memories. Met many people who have had a lasting impression on my life.
*Six week road trip across the US
*Mid-Atlantic cycle tour spanning 400 miles and 6 days.
*Shared a picnic with a bear near Mestia, Georgia.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook quickly and efficiently (and most of the time cheaply!).
I have taught finances and budgeting before and am willing to help anyone in this area... so you can have money to make more trips!
I’ve ran an organic CSA from my yard when I lived in Philadelphia and can teach you how to grow great veggies and be sustainable and friendly to the earth.
I'd love to learn manual photography. Also, if you know acroyoga I am very interested in learning. It looks like a ton of fun!
I have a thirst for knowledge and enjoy learning anything new.
I enjoy sharing cooking and meals, bike trips, conversations, star gazing (if you know constellations, do teach!), and almost anything else. You can always have more fun and get in more trouble with someone!
