Overview
About Me
I'm a fun-loving social butterfly, singer, guitarist, and avid proponent of good wine and good times 🎶🍷🎉
I also love to cook, and would gladly do so for you if you host me 🍽✨
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to make the most out of my experience traveling, and that experience should include more than tourist hotspots; I want to meet people, get their insight, and share an experience with them. I think that couch-surfing is a wonderful concept because it encourages that more personal experience.
Interests
Definitely music: writing, performing, playing with others, going to local shows, road-tripping to distant concerts and festivals, the list goes on
Traveling is, of course, a blast. A long drive or flight can end up being a memorable and even meaningful experience for me. Sometimes it really is the journey that counts.
Also, having spent my life living in Southern Oregon, seeking outdoor adventures is second-nature to me. That being said, it also means that I find big cities to be exciting.

Little Dragon
Metric
30 Seconds to Mars + Neon Trees

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my roommates and I hosted live music in our living room every month for two years straight! I think the consistent frequency of those shows and our dedication to making them great created a truly unique house show experience.
I always felt like there was something for everybody (well, at least everybody who likes to go out and have a good time): You could get down to some live music - there was a dance floor, a PA system better than half the bar venues around in small-town Ashland, and new, original music that you could dance to. There was drinking of course, and if you just wanted to go out and party, it was a great place to do that, but on top of that there was always a crowd that spent most of their time in the backyard, away from the noise, but still surrounded by good-spirited people, some smoking their cigarettes and whatnot, some drinking, but it was a place where people talked. When you were done talking you could go in and dance, stand in the back of the room and bob your head, grab a drink, or do whatever else you wanted to do. And if you came once, you'd see friendly faces the next time you came out - the month-to-month frequency of the whole thing led to plenty of regulars.
What began as my roommate and I and our friend's bands playing for a small party of 25-30 people, became our friend's friend's bands playing for 40-50 people, which eventually became touring bands from other cities and states - people we'd never met - playing for 70-100 people. We built a reputation that we always strived to live up to, and I twe did a pretty good job of that.
One day I'll look back on the days of my youth and those shows will be a highlight for reasons ranging from the scope of the parties, to the music and the sheer fun and aesthetic appeal of it, to the feedback and the feeling of being apart of something; of making something beautiful happen. I've connected with so many people through those experiences, and I know that I'm not the only one who feels that way.
