Hey I'm Derek, I live in sunny old Adelaide Australia.

Skiing is one of my big passions, but how the heck can that be, there are no mountains within 1000km of Adelaide.

Well i lived in Canada for 2 years, 5 years ago. And i'm returning! but not to live unfortunately, I'll be making the most of the Canadian slopes and culture for just over a month, and returning to my old second home, Jasper.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll be visiting a number of ski resorts around alberta and BC, during a 38 day trek from edmonton to vancouver. Whilst most of my time will be spent at hostels, i thought that it'd be great to meet some locals properly in towns that ive in before and new towns ive yet to see. Couchsurfing i see as the best way to meet locals early on in the piece.
