I am a language enthusiast and my native language is English since I am from the US. I speak some Cantonese since my family is from Hong Kong and I am currently working on French and Spanish. My ability to read in these two languages is much better than my ability to listen and speak; so I am trying to improve those two aspects of my language learning.

I also enjoy playing music. I have been playing piano and violin for almost two decades each. It was a huge part of my life and led to a lot of traveling which was what kick-started my interest in foreign languages.

I have recently taken up an interest in programming and software engineering, so I am trying to learn as much as I can and am hoping to go back to school in this field (I only graduated college about two years ago, so I have plenty of time)!

I am on Couchsurfing in the hopes of meeting new people and friends from all over the world to practice speaking foreign languages with. I always enjoy learning about foreign cultures and foreign countries and what better way than to meet people from these countries and converse in both English and their language! One of my biggest goals in language learning is to get to a good level in any language that I learn and one of the best ways to do that is to speak with natives.

I have traveled to Europe and Asia. In Europe, I have been to Paris, Rome, Florence, Budapest, Prague, and Belgrade. In Asia, I have been to Hong Kong, Tokyo, Matsumoto, and Kyoto.
