I recently moved to Chiang Mai Thailand from Bend Oregon. I am now an English Teacher and looking to learn about new places and new people. My housemate Lauren (homerakgirl) is really in charge.

I just joined, my housemate Lauren (homerakgirl)has been active for many years is a much more expericnced traveller and couch surfer than I am.

I love good music. Primus sucks, in a good way, and Les Claypool is God. Trey Anastasio and Phish, the Grateful Dead, Beck, Indigo Girls, Cowboy Junkies, and Death Cab all are great. I think Foo Fighters are probably the best band in the world right now and Dave Grohl is a genious. Other bands I have seen in person are; Midnight Oil, Bad Religion, Stone Temple Pilots, Jesus and Mary Chain, Live, Sheryl Crow, Mazzy Star, Fishbone, Sinead O'Conner, Blind Melon, String Cheese Incident, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Emmylou Harris, Black Crowes, Decemberists, Allison Krause and Union Station, KT Tunstall, Widespread Panic, Modest Mouse, Sublime, Thin Lizzy, Dick Dale, and many more. Movies, Good independent films are great. I used to see a few movies every week. Now I see a few every year. Funny how leaving Los Angeles takes the focus off the movie industry and puts it back onto real life. I love Coen Brothers movies, Cameron Crowe movies, Farrelly Brothers movies, Martin Scorcese movies, and other movies that make you think. Books, Good books are a gift. Fiction by Cormac McCarthy, John Grisham, Steve Martini, Robert Ludlum back in the day, Douglas Adams' novels, the Dune Trilogy, and many others. Non-fiction stuff is great and I usually alternate between the styles.

Some people say it is amazing I make it through the day, so I guess that is pretty good.
