ABOUT ME

I think I owe it to myself (and others with less opportunity) to pack in as much fun as is humanly possible into the short time I have. My friends describe me as very chilled out and relaxed. I'm passionate but not obsessive about surfing, snowboarding, cycling (inc mountain, road, touring and bike polo) freediving/swimming, keeping fit and photography. I'm a lover of most sports but find my self drawn to the more unusual and underground sports like, hang gliding, underwater hockey (represented state twice) climbing, bike polo (represented state once) and adventure racing. I'm realistic about trying to do too much so some of these past times are on the 'back burner'. Similarly, I go through phases of interest and therefore have changed my career roughly every five years. I'm due for another one - perhaps when the current RTW trip is over.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met and hosted a few C.Surfers but not through the site. I met and introduced them to bike polo and as it turned out they needed a place to stay. Ended up staying with us for a few weeks! And I plan to catch up with them in Europe.
I've known about the site for a long time and have many friends who've tried it/ had great experiences

Travel of course! See above for sports. Also cooking, cafes, learning languages and about cultures, the art of bicycle maintenence, beach lifestyle and candid photography.
