About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Planning a backpacking trip to Ireland, Scotland, England, and Greece in late September / early October 2017.

ABOUT ME

I consider myself super open-minded and very few things surprise or shock me. I also believe in trying everything once...twice if I don't like it the first time :)

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live my life by the Golden Rule - do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I am a HUGE believer in karma. Nobody is perfect in this world, but we can all try to be our best to each other. When it's all over, how we treated one another is what's really going to matter.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted one awesome Couchsurfer but have not yet Couchsurfed myself. It was an amazing experience and we are friends for life :)

Interests

Always a foodie at heart. I also like reading biographies (especially of heads of state), taking day trips, doing anything adventurous, talking with good friends, meeting new people, foreign languages, and exploring places.

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as books...I like non-fiction. Music - I'll listen to anything. And as far as movies go, I like movies that make you think about life and yourself...movies that you learn something from and help you grow as a person.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling along the southern part of the Ring Road in Iceland, passing through Vik and Dyrhólaey on the way to the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon off of the Vatnajökull glacier in November of 2016 was a fantastic experience, as was seeing the Northern Lights from a plane @ 30,000 ft. on my way there.

Going camping, fishing, and exploring @ Glacier National Park in the state of Montana was incredible...one of the most scenically beautiful places I've ever been to.

Also, spending a week in the Arctic Circle in Barrow, Alaska among the Iñupiat Eskimos while on a business trip through my employer was definitely tops. Yep, got to eat whale blubber (i.e. muqtuq) and also raw bearded seal (which I would NOT recommend, everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr).

Got stung by a jellyfish for the first time down in Honduras, and got to climb ancient Mayan pyramids in Belize a couple of years ago, which was really neat.

I spent a couple of weeks backpacking across Europe (Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Prague, Berlin, and Kraków) between Christmas 2015 and the first week and a half of 2016. It was an unforgettable experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone can learn something from everyone else. You just have to have an open heart and an open mind.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I *love* to cook and would be happy to cook some delicious Mexican food and also to help you with your English or Spanish. I'm a huge language buff as well :)
