Currently happy to live life without a mission

ABOUT ME

I am open and sociable, but also kind of solitary by nature. Having travelled a lot and lived in many places I have enjoyed making friends from very different cultures. But I have also often had more solitary periods, usually when starting over in a new place where I didn't really know anyone, and I have also really enjoyed that.

Apart from ecology and massage, I really love yoga, live music, spending time in nature, cooking with/for friends, and watching films with friends on my projector!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not sure I have one. These couple of quotes I really like, and I think express what I live by - on a good day.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love having people over (coach surfers or not!), and I have always enjoyed staying at other people's places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have the best of experiences meeting people through couchsurfing. Interesting, fun, and I've ended up meeting people who I wouldn't have come across otherwise.

Some favourite films: Man without a past (Kaurismaki), Black cat white cat (Kusturica), Life is Beautiful (Benigni).

Music: Rodrigo and Gabriela, balkan/gypsy, Madredeus, The double life of Veronique soundtrack, classical, blues, flamenco guitar, traditional music from almost anywhere.

Books: Favourite book - The little prince (Exupéry). I keep wanting to read Don Quijote de la Mancha (Cervantes), I really liked "the Master and Margarita" (Bulgakov). Now reading "Uncle Tom's cabin" (Harriet Beecher Stowe).

I do a lot of different things, but I guess the most applicable in couchsurfing situations is cooking and eating! Always interested to share interesting music and films too, and always enjoy walks in nice places. I've had really good times with other couchsurfers going to art events, I love live music (but not extremely loud things), dance, the theatre, crafts.. And anything to do with animals (happy ones, not unfriendly zoos for example..). I also love outdoors-y things in general, would love to be introduced to more, but couchsurfing usually doesn't leave time for excursions. I LOVE the sea, diving, snorkelling, sailing, or just staring/listening is good.
