Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To visit as many national parks as I can!
ABOUT ME
I grew up in remote tea estates in India and went to boarding schools, and have moved every few years thereafter. So the many phases of my life have all been distinct and have given me the opportunity to meet many different people. My work and experiences have shaped my worldview and made me increasingly value the quality of opening myself to different people, cultures, and contexts. I guess, that is why I love traveling so much, because it opens up so many new ways of seeing the world.
PHILOSOPHY
Live, let live and learn!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have taken my students and many friends on travels and I love being able to help them discover new people, places and cultures. I would love to do the same to fellow couchsurfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Really great! My husband and I took a long road trip last winter, and met some wonderful folks, who have become friends. Hopefully, we can return their favors by hosting them either in the US or in India. I love the idea of opening up my home to someone and I look forward to others' hospitality as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many to write down here! But recently really enjoyed Crazy Heart, Bridesmaids, and the TV series The Wire. Also love 30 Rock and the Office. I have enjoyed foreign films, indy films and need to see a staple Bollywood flick every now and then!
Just finished reading Murakami's Wind Up Bird Chronicle, which I loved. Now reading the Last Mughal by William Dalrymple. I'm looking forward to reading the biography of Rin Tin Tin, which is just out.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Helped a midwife deliver a child! Broken some rules in boarding school, which is less amazing perhaps, but very exciting!
I have seen some amazing places and met some interesting people!
Teach, Learn, Share
