Hey I'm Devon. I'm a math teacher, music junkie, reader, thinker, and so much more. I'm new to couch surfing, but figure it's a nice alternative to visiting cities solo and sort of figuring things out as I go. I'm always up for an interesting conversation on whatever topic is consuming your mind - be it politics, morality, music, good beer, or personal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm super into travelling to see shows, and am looking for a new way to do so, while meeting interesting people along the way. I'm currently looking to travel to Nashville, do some hiking in the great smoky mountains, then head to New Orleans, and back north to Raleigh and finallly home to Philly. Hoping to meet as many cool new people as I can along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: i gravitate towards alternative and folk rock, Jack Garratt, Black Keys, Matt Corby, Florence + the Machine, etc. but am generally intrigued by talent and good vibes, whatever the genre.

Books: anything by Carl Sagan or Richard Feynman. Most any nonfiction with a positive message. I like to learn from others perspectives and fields of knowledge. Fiction writers: Orwell, Kerouac, Vonnegut.. typical I know.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was born from a beautiful mother, survived adolescence, and came to be in this present state. I think that's pretty amazing experience we all can share :)

The only constant is change.

Teaching is my passion - be it math, science, philosphy, music. I'm an open book when it comes to sharing experience and experiences. And visa versa. I'm in constant search for new quotes, vibes, and ways of life. I've also been practicing yoga for about a year and love to learn and pactice with new people at every chance.
