I grew up in California and I miss it everyday. I miss being close to the beach and the streets of San Francisco, the city that has always been my favorite place in the world. I was lucky enough to live there for a year and a half as a live-in nanny to a beautiful French family. I would pack up the stroller in the morning and just walk all day, taking breaks in various cafes and restaurants. I met so many interesting characters and everyday was an adventure.

I love meeting new people. I work at a Tex Mex restaurant called Chuy's (a local hotspot that helps keep Austin weird) where we have a philosophy stating that we have the friendliest employees in the world. Now I don't know if that's true but working there has definitely improved my social skills. I know that no matter how short or long the conversation, I can learn something from each person I talk to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to go out and see the world. Staying with locals is comforting and helps my trips feel less touristy. I know that hosts love travelers and it feels good to be welcomed. Someday I will have a home to open up and I'll love every minute of it. I think it will feel like traveling even when I'm staying local. I'll be inviting all of their stories into my life.
