ABOUT ME

Born and raised in a Portuguese family about an hour outside of Toronto, I am currently living in the big city, studying law. I lived briefly in Singapore, and try to travel whenever I can.

I am easy-going and always want to try and learn new things. I love hearing interesting stories, sharing delicious meals, and having a good laugh.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just getting started--dipping my toes into the CS pool. Ideally, I'd like to meet new people while travelling, perhaps surf a couch here and there, and then, return the favour, and open my home to CouchSurfers from around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I love watching movies, from all periods and places. My favourites are: "Hiroshima, Mon Amour," "Les 400 Coups," "I Heart Huckabees," "Into the Wild," "Kung Fu Hustle," "Y Tu Mama Tambien," "Match Point," "Pulp Fiction," ...

Music: similar to movies, I listen to pretty much anything and everything (yes, even mariachi); MIA, Kanye West, The White Stripes, Cesaria Evora, RHCP, Amy Winehouse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Caetano Veloso, Os Tribalistas...

Books: I tend to read non-fiction. I'm currently reading Malcolm Gladwell, but just recently finished some David Sedaris (hilarious).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel that every day I wake up is an amazing day, especially when I have the good fortune of waking up in a new and foreign place.

One of my most memorable experiences, however, came when I went swimming with wild whale sharks in The Philippines.
