My name is Dewi. I am from Indonesia.
I am not good describing myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I first joined CS when I traveled around Europe, summer 2010.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first surfed in Germany. I had a great host and hostess. It was a wonderful experience.
Then I surfed again and joined some CS events abroad and in my country.

Interests

WATERSPORTS ACTIVITIES

I like to go to the beach, lake and river. I am not a good athlete but I like almost all water sports activities like swimming, snorkeling, rowing, rafting. I like to try water sports activities. I have tried some water sport activities like diving, surfing, waterskiing, kneeboarding. I am looking forward to join CS events, preferably other water sports activities which I haven't tried like sailing, parasailing, windsurfing, etc.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I also like to take pictures though I am not a good photographer.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

I like reading, listening to the music and though I am not good in these areas, I also like singing and cycling.

FOREIGN LANGUAGES AND CULTURES

Studying foreign languages and cultures is also my passion. Studying a language and the culture gives me some ideas what kind of people they are.

I studied English when I was in elementary school. I studied German when I was in High School. I took French course when I was in the university and Dutch linguistics was my major. After graduating from the university, I took Portuguese course. Because when I worked for Brazilian Embassy, the windows program in my computer is in Portuguese.

I don't practice all the languages all the time as I live in Jakarta, so I am not an expert of all the above mentioned languages.
Maybe the next foreign language I will study is Spanish, either I will study it in my country or one of South American countries if I can get a volunteer job there.

FRIENDS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD

I am looking forward to meet people with the same interest. It is good to have friends with the same interests though I welcome friends with different interests. It is always good to try and learn something new.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While I was backpacking solo abroad, a stranger on the street can really be a good help. We should always love one another as we are brothers and sisters from a big family in this planet earth.

LEARN FROM OTHERS BUT BE YOURSELF

I learned a lot from my first host, other hosts and other people I met while I was traveling. Everyday I learn from people I meet anywhere.

I like to have friends from all over the world, learn their point of views and try to understand them. I take the value(s) which is good for me.
