ABOUT ME

After spending time abroad as an undergrad I simply haven't stopped traveling. Since coming back to America to pursue a grad degree in Education/Media Arts/History, my travels have become more topical and driven by participating/documenting in non-profit projects. This helps me bring the "real world" into my classroom in a dynamic way.

Currently, I am the Director of Rough Cut Productions, a nonprofit media creation team staffed by my current and former students at SLA- Science Leadership Academy- in Philadelphia, PA. This is a catch-22 of sorts since I get plenty of time free to travel, but always have to come back for the school year just when I think I am starting to "get" a community. When I am not teaching I am working on my own personal media centered mostly on underreported issues.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have always wanted to be a part of CS, and now that I own a home in S Philly I can. We have a great home here with cool artists, and plenty of extra space for guests. We host parties on a regular basis, and have a great network of friends throughout the city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have never surfed but hosted in past during New Years in Philly. Have also co-hosted numerous times at my brother's house. Looking forward to hosting again after exploring the Balkans.

Interests

Pretty much love to get out and see new places in the world. Love watching and playing sports (Flyers, Yankees, Phils and USMNT/USWNT soccer). Live music is a must, as is good beer, wine and food. However, not above PBR/Box Wine and take-out when good company is involved. Films and worthwhile cable shows are a bit of an addiction.
