About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Take the plunge. Discover the possibilities.

ABOUT ME

I am..

a traveler, an (aspiring) artist, a couch potato, a (rambling) philosopher, an (attempted) musician, an explorer, an (extroverted) introvert, a writer and a party animal (in training)!

I'm on journey to discover what life has to offer!

PHILOSOPHY

Living an experience based lifestyle is an aspiration of mine; I haven't completely realised it yet; it's a work in progress I guess. I'm thinking through what is it that I really value; on my list so far are: freedom, novelty, access (to experiences), creative expression, authenticity, learning, discovery, meaning, human connections, pleasure and contribution. These are the things that my gut is telling me; so using this as a starting point I want to design a life that delivers this.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mostly hang out with CSers in Singapore. I'm also down for coffee and hanging out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hanged out with some CSers in Austria and in Japan. Most of my CS friends are where I live right now.. Singapore!!

Interests

Travelling - Do I really need to explain this?! I really enjoy travelling. I'm a travel-o-holic! I hope I will continue getting opportunities to travel our little blue planet.

Piano - I love this instrument. It's one of the greatest things ever invented. Despite my mediocre skill level I've spent countless hours of my life playing the piano.

Guitar - I'm starting to learn how to play the guitar.

Drinking - It just makes everything else fun!

Eating - Food usually has the highest benefit to cost ratio. It's amazing that I'm not obese yet.

Sleeping - So nice.. and so relaxing.

Longboarding - I picked this up when I was living in California. It's one of my favorite things to do.

Drawing - I don't draw very often. Every now and then I like to do pencil sketches.

Philosophy - Whether we know it or not, there is nothing more relevant to our lives than philosophy.

Filming - I like to experiment with filming.

Photography - It's good way to document life and refresh faded memories.

Dance - I used to hate it and now I really like it. I'm always looking to improve so if you dance, maybe you can teach me a couple of things!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've lived, worked or studied in four countries.

Despite my childish behavior, I've somehow managed to get a couple of university degrees from the US and Canada.

I wrote a small book.

In Vietnam, we rented a scooter and starting driving around the country side on road that had no street lights right before sunset. We were looking for the elusive white sand dunes that were far away from the touristy spots. Using GPS and satellite images we went far on a dirt road. It looked more like Afghanistan than Vietnam! The sun was setting fast, the fuel gauge was broken we had no idea if we're running out of fuel. we found the sand dunes, ran up the massive hill of sand and had a spectacular view before rushing back to civilization!
