CURRENT MISSION

To explore and engage in a grand adventure in this final year before 'settling down' (in a sense...) back in the States in a proper job. :) I want to see as much as I can, experience as much as I can, and meet as many new people as possible

ABOUT ME

I'm an American living abroad in Scotland, and feeling quite at home among so many red-heads! After teaching and coaching for the last three years, I am absolutely loving being a student and an athlete again at the University of Edinburgh. I came over because I needed a break from work and wanted a final grand adventure this year before settling down a bit back in Washington, DC.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is lived through relationships with others. That's why I love meeting new people and learning about their experiences. :) We've been given an incredibly beautiful world populated with such a diverse and fascinating variety of people--I want to revel in those gifts!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've only just joined the CS project, and because I am a student this year in a very small flat, I won't be able to offer a couch until I return to the States next year. However, I'm almost always up for a cup of coffee or a nice pint for anyone passing thru Edinburgh between now and next summer! I hope to be able to travel in Europe a bit over the next 10 months, and since I think so much of a place is in its people, I am looking forward to meeting people thru this network in the cities I have the chance to visit!

Literature (comes with being a lit major, I suppose...), meeting new people, good books, good conversations, road trips (especially when the company is good), cooking, coffee, rowing, being outdoors in general

Music, Movies, and Books

My degree is in Modern and Contemporary literature, but there is very little I don't enjoy (aside from the Victorians, I suppose...), especially in poetry.

Teach, Learn, Share

Anything having to do with rowing :) I've also studied a great deal of literature, as well as theology and some philosophy. And I LOVE cooking, as I think it's one of the best ways to spend time together and get to know people (both in creating and enjoying a delectable meal), so I can give a few tips and would love to learn some new ones as well. :)
