About Me
Hi, I'm Di.
I studied in California for 4 years and come originally from northeastern China. Since the end of 2017 I have been living in Berlin, and planing to start an another degree in Computer Science. Traveling thrills me. I love films and all kinds of art: Books, paintings, architecture... I spend too much time in school and with books, so probably not the most brave at making new friends, but that's why Couchsurfing is an awesome opportunity for me to meet and to know people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My friend used Couchsurfing for South America and he recommended it to me. I first used it in Guadalajara, Mexico and it was everything I wished for and more. I got to know local people, spent time exploring the city with their great advice, shared our interests and dreams, and hanged out with their family and friends. Since I am currently still not permanently settled, I cannot yet (despite great aspirations) host anyone. But in the future I definitely look forward to giving back to this amazing community.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I must have listened to alt-j more than 100 times. Also love Grimes. Lesser known: Arca, Björk, Moderate, Schwefelgelb, Sia.
Films: Pasolini's trilogy. Also Lars von Trier(reservedly b/c of his sexual misconduct) and of course Gaspar Noé. Recently: Alex Garland
Books: I read basically all of Haruki Murakami. Recently started with 2666 by Bolaño and the Knausgård autobiographies. Also reading By Swann auf Deutsch :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed a not-too-hard mountain in Iceland called Esja and I almost got myself slapped under huge rocks! (The amazing part is I lived to tell)
Teach, Learn, Share
Is this where I preach?
"Don't do to others what you don't want done to you, " - I was brought up with a Confucian education.
In Mexico I realized people can practice speaking English with me. Never knew that. Also in Mexico I realized how important it is to learn the local language. Aspiring constantly to learn this or that language. Currently dreaming about Greek.
BTW I can make a decent plate of tomato-eggs stir fry.
