About Me

I'm a Colombian woman currently studying in New York, eager to see new places. I love art, history, reading, music, dancing, cafés, markets, food, wine and beer. One of my favorite things to do is talking about pretty much everything, from the last silly movie premiere to more serious subjects such as politics, history, science or climate change. I like going out and dance all night but I'm not a party animal, and as much as I love dancing and salsa I'm more of a pub/bar person, I enjoy dinning out, walking cities, parks, historic spots, I love street food and/or trying typical food everywhere and I believe that a good night with friends and wine is always a good night. Oh and don't get me started on concerts and gigs, these events are glorious for me!

I also love cycling, I don't do it so often now, but I'm crazy about every famous competition out there, I always wait impatiently for Le Tour, Il Giro and La Vuelta, I turn my tv on those days and I have the best mornings :) Oh by the way, I love soccer, my heart is always and forever for my national team.

If you want to know more... I'm a professional Statistician, with a career of more than 10 years (yikes!), I'm 37 years old, and I'm took a year off of my sometimes very stressful life back in Colombia, something like a sabbatical. I decided to go to New York to improve my English and to live in that complicated but wonderful city for a little while.

About traveling... I first became interested in traveling about 5 years ago when I decided to explore my own country every chance I could and I have to say that the best traveling experiences I've ever had in my life have been with locals in the simplest locations: beautiful scenery, great food and amazing people. I would like to say that I've been in every corner of Colombia, but I still have a long way to go...

Then, realizing that I hadn't been abroad as much as I wanted to, I decided to take my backpack and my parents to a 26-day-trip to Perú, Bolivia and Chile. Again, one of the most marvelous things I've ever done, to see the sacred Machu Picchu, the endless Uyuni salt flats, the most beautiful night sky in Atacama and so on... but most importantly, doing this with my parents and see their faces enjoying like children was enough for me.

2019 finally I did my very first trip to Europe and I couldn't ask for more. Traveling alone, meeting people, trying great food, feeling the vibes of the "old continent" was an extraordinary experience.
