About Me

I am 2-nd year Master degree student in Italy with a background in Languages. I consider myself as a global citizen who loves exploring new cultures and learning foreign languages. I am into mobilography and blogging. I love sharing my knowledge and thoughts with my followers on my Instagram. I have been creating social media content for 1.5 years about travelling, education and opportunities abroad, self-development and mindfulness (my instagram page: https://instagram.com/yourdianazz?igshid=ZWIzMWE5ZmU3Zg==). Let me describe myself in three words: versatile, cheerful and open-minded. I love being social, but sometimes crave alone time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am excited and enthusiastic about the opportunity to meet new people, improve intercultural awareness and broaden my perspective. I want to develop a better understanding and knowledge of other cultures. I believe that the best way to understand and fully experience another culture is communicating with locals. Travelling is not only about going sightseeing and taking photos, but more about getting out of your comfort zone, connecting with people, culture and history.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite genre of music is pop-music and Jazz. I love music that has a good rhythm and also the ones with meaningful lyrics which resonate with me.

I cannot imagine a single day without listening to music, even in the most difficult moments of my life music has always been there for me, soothing my mind and healing my soul. These are some of songs I repeatedly listen and love: Stromae “Tous les mêmes”, First Aid Kit “Silver Lining”, Black Eyed Peas “Where is the love?”, John Lennon “Imagine”, Frank Sinatra “Fly me to the moon”, Patrick Watson “Je te laisserai des mots”, and so on.

I love inspirational, motivational movies, comedy, documentaries and romance. One of my favorite movies are 'The Bucket list", "The pursuit of happyness" and "Call me by your name". As you see all of them are that type of film that give you courage to be yourself, follow your heart and take risks.

Reading is my cup of tea. One of my fav books is The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, I have a weird habit - I read this book in every language I start to learn (of course adapted versions to make learning process more effective). I adore Erich Maria Remarque and especially his "The night in Lisbon", I cannot even describe how beautiful his writing is. Nowadays I am reading more non-fictions books about self-improvement and psychology

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Met 30 people from 8 different nationalities (Czech, Bulgarian, Croatian, Spanish, Polish, Hungarian, Greek, Italian) at the same time and lived with them for 8 days under the same roof. It was unforgettable and enriching experience!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Being Kazakh born in multicultural country Kazakhstan, raised as a bilingual child (fluent in both Russian and Kazakh) and having big passion for foreign languages I can now speak 5 languages: Kazakh (mother tongue), Russian (mother tongue), English (C1) , French (B1) , Italian (B1). I can be a great language buddy and help you to practice Kazakh, Russian or English. I can teach you some basic phrases in any of these languages too. I would love to share my stories and tell about unique Kazakh culture and our traditions. Did you know that Kazakhstan is the ninth largest country in the world and that it is populated by around 131 ethnicities? or the fact that Kazakh people revere horses, but also eat horse meat all the time which is served to be our national food? We do not see any contradiction between loving a horse as a companion, lovely pet and loving to eat its meat:))) I can tell you more interesting stories indeed. Moreover I enjoy singing songs, dancing and taking photos too. I don't mind giving a hand with household chores. Recently I took participation in 8-days training course about Non-Violent Communication and gained some practical and useful knowledge, which I'd love to share also with my hosts.
