About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn and grow

ABOUT ME

We have a happy house, a futon in the living room and a little floor space near the campus of UC Santa Cruz about 1.5 hrs south of San Francisco, 1 hr north of Monterey/Carmel and 5 car minutes from the beach boardwalk.

We're busy a lot, so tour-guiding may not be an option, but we've got wireless Internet access and good maps to point you where you want to go.

PHILOSOPHY

Success is measured by the people you have in your life. We think that life is too short as it is, so every moment must be lived to the fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've hosted a few people and had great experiences with everyone (every one!)

Interests

We have tons of books on every subject; all kinds of games from board to video to computer; We're also political junkies (liberals), science and philosophy freaks and can hold a conversation on just about any topic.

Our travels have been fairly limited, but do include 10 European countries and not enough US states. We also have lots of relatives in Germany and one of us is fairly fluent in German.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: yes! please! currently liking bluesy jazz, electronica, but hey, as long as there's something playing...

3:10 to Yuma
Joe vs. The Volcano
American Beauty

Too many books....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We were in Rome during the last Papal Conclave and ran to the top of the Spanish Steps to watch for the smoke on the day the new Pope was chosen. Even though the Pope means nothing to me personally, it was an amazing place to be in history.

Teach, Learn, Share

One of us is a writer who spends most of her week working at a desk job for NASA, two of us are sophomores in college (one undecided, one future engineer). There are very few things we're not interested in and we're always looking to learn more and meet interesting people.

Countries I’ve Visited
