CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy it while it lasts ...
ABOUT ME
After many a year (and many a couchsurfer) in Guyana, work has brought me to Lima, Peru for a couple of years. It's a wonderful city, and I'm only starting to scratch the surface of all there is to see and do here!
PHILOSOPHY
For me, it's about doing things that give life meaning ... and while it might seem like that takes you in a dozen different directions, I think that looking back on life every event does have its purpose.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
At this point, I'm almost entirely a host ... no time to travel :( I used to live in Guyana and provide ooodles of info about life there -- there's so little accurate info out there I do what I can. Now that I've switched locales and countries I'm open to hosting and meeting new people, and will probably reach out to some CS hosts for coffee and tips.
Interessen
Skiing (when I'm not living in a tropical environment), rowing (rowed crew competitively for some time), reading, relaxing in a hammock. Cooking huge Sunday brunches and inviting all my friends over for good food and good conversation. I have what can only be described as an obsession with football (the American kind, sorry everyone) and love love love watching games with my hometown friends and family.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
This simple question is way, way too hard to answer. I read. A lot. I used to average between 2-4 books a week, but now that I'm switching to Spanish it's much less. My favorite books change way too often, but I can give some examples. Easiest to start with authors I can't get enough of: Milan Kundera, Jonathan Safran Foer, Paul Theroux, William Easterly, and Sarah Vowell. Specific favorites: Atlas Shrugged, A Moveable Feast, I Didn't Do it for You, Confessions of an Economic Hitman, The Poisonwood Bible, Blindness, and The Red Tent.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Too many things to pick just one.
Canaima in Venezuela ... Pitons in St. Lucia ... the Rupununi River in Guyana ... beaches of St. John ... Lake Tahoe ... back bowls at Vail ... Mount Washington ... early morning rows on the Charles River ... autumn time in New Hampshire ... and so many more.
