About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My wife and I are making a tour of Europe after our teaching contract in Morocco ended in late June, and we have somewhat of an open itinerary until mid September of 2017. We would like to visit as many countries as our finances will allow.

ABOUT ME

I believe in the quote: "There are no strangers, only friends you have not yet met".

A little about me... After college I worked on oil rigs just long enough to save some money for travel, then I quit my job and drove cross country in the USA for half a year, spent another half year teaching in Honduras, and then spent another half year backpacking around in Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.

I lived in colorful Colorado for 3 years, where I got married; then I moved to Casablanca, Morocco with my wife to work at an international school! We are a very social and active couple that enjoys biking, rock climbing, hiking, camping, and various other activities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had a few experiences surfing and hosting, but my apartment is open for hosting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For my first experience, I stayed with a really amazing host in Boulder, Colorado for a few days. I couldn't believe how incredibly trusting he was. He turned over his keys and let us come and go as we pleased! His roommate made the most amazing blue cheese lamb burgers too. We were up all night talking to him about his travelling experiences.

I've also hosted international travelers (though not through CS) at my apartment in Copan Ruinas, Honduras.

Interests

Climbing, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, caving, tennis, disc golf, ultimate frisbee (anything outdoors really), good food, good beer, dancing, cooking, learning, people-watching, meeting strange people, interesting conversations, getting lost in strange places, playing instruments (harmonica, didgeridoo, ukulele, drums), jamming out with other musicians.. the list goes on.

Music, Movies, and Books

I believe that there is a genre of music for every occasion and mood. I appreciate all music in one way or another. It all depends what you're in the mood for.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm working as a teacher in Casablanca, Morocco right now. I love language exchanges, I'm constantly looking to improve my French and Spanish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My girlfriend and I, have a couch and/or floor space with an inflatable mattress.

I also have equipment for two, for sport climbing, and mountain biking. I'm more than willing to play "guide" and take a fellow couchsurfer climbing and/or mountain biking while visiting in Colorado.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, Colombia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, France, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Italy, Morocco, Peru, Portugal, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
