O mnie

About me.. I would describe myself as an easy-going guy who is pretty open minded. I like travels that involve some challenge and adventure, and the nice thing about couchsurfing is that I get to meet a lot of like-minded people.

I did a fair share of hitchhiking and some on-the-spot couchsurfing in Europe, and I always found this to be the greatest memories of the bit of traveling I did. Meeting friendly people that help you out is just awesome.

After traveling a lot for many years I geared down a bit to enjoy my family life in the small town Wolvega, where I live with my wife and daughter.

Dlaczego jestem na Couchsurfing

I had great experiences surfing and hosting people on my houseboat in Groningen. I met some amazing people with CS, who not only offered me great hospitality, but sometimes also helped me on my way with my travels.

I think couchsurfing is a great initiative connecting people around the world.

I can more and more

I'm not much of a reader, but I recently read a book of Jeremy Clarkson, which really made me laugh a lot. It is offensive for everybody, it's well thought off, and I think it's funny.

Jedna niesamowita rzecz, którą zrobiłem(-am)

In the summer of 2010 I asked my brother the question "would you like to cycle 1000km in Italy without money?" and of course he replied with a quick yes. In Rome we bought two bicycles and we just went south. Arriving in Palermo on Sicily tree weeks later, we only spent money on repairing the bicycles.
I bought a motorbike in Jakarta together with a friend of mine. We drove it to Bali through all the crazy traffic; this was a lot of fun.
One time a friend came to me with another good idea, buying a horse in Mongolia. So this is exactly what we did in the summer of 2012. We made a nice trip of 200km along a river, with a lot of funny moments because we didn't know a thing about riding a horse, or the Mongolian language.
I've driven a motorcycle from Alaska to Argentina in three months.
Kayaking the Ems river in Germany for 300km in cheap inflatable kayaks.
