About Me

Hi! My name is Diego and I came from Chile (South America), where I am currently living. My traveler experience started in 2007 when I went with all my high schools friends to Bariloche (Argentinean Patagonia). Since this date, my traveler and exploring desire started growing and growing. The following years I visited Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay and Brazil; awesome experience! But in 2012 I realized that I wanted a real international experience, so I moved to Dublin (Ireland) and lived there for around a year. It was awesome -and not only for the beer ;)- cuz I did a lot of short trips across Europe and Africa. I was an amazing experience, because visiting the Sahara or the Lofoten Islands in the Arctic Circle is something that takes your breath away.

In 2013 I came back to Chile and started working in a non-profit foundation, helping the less fortunate students of my city; I did this for 2 years. Then, I moved my career to the exportation industry (I am the export manager of the biggest Pisco – Chilean/Peruvian national spirit- company). The last year I moved for work 8 months to Buenos Aires, Argentina; love Argentinean culture! This year I decided that I wanted to start a new adventure! So, Iceland and Ireland would be the destiny.

It is my first time in Couch Surfing, and specifically Iceland is my first destiny. I just want you to know that I am interested in share new moments, culture and stories. Any new experience and meeting new people is my life motto! And believe me, the south American humor sense it is going to make you laugh a lot!

I am very clean and tidy, always want to make others feel like home. Every house is a place for respect for everyone, but as well where you share and enjoy each other, a house is for free expression not for good impression.

Love animals (dogs and horses), practice athletics (I was part of the chilean track&field youth national team), nature, explore cities and unexplored parts of our world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Want to know the local culture and learn from different kind of “worlds”. Make friends , share stories and have fun. Show the world that Chileans rock!!
