About Me

I'm a computer monkey at Amazon with ambitions of a more interesting life lol. I like to travel, and learn the language of wherever I'm going, but I don't get the chance much these days. The dream is to learn a country's language -> move to that country -> while I'm there learn another language....-> move to that other country and repeat every few years!

Until then, I'm happy to just open my doors and experience other worlds through getting to know people who travel more than I do :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In college, my roommate had Couchsurfing and would (volunteer our apartment to) host people, and they were all really awesome and an absolute pleasure to get to know. Now I'm living alone and so have an even bigger need to talk to interesting people lol. So I just wanna host to get to know people who are traveling, and more importantly because I really think this is a cool community and think it's cool to give back

Interests

Again, just huge nerd, I love science, video games, and anime. My favorite story in any media is One Piece, which has 1000+ episodes. I've been learning juggling and unicycling since last year, you know just in case I might need to join a circus all of a sudden ;)

But I don't think it's what a person does that defines them, but why they do it. So I care more about learning about others' interests, especially if they're different from mine, than to talk about my own.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ever since I got into language-learning, I've mostly been listening to foreign-language pop. So far, I think French has my favorite pop music (turns out I'm basic and love Angèle). Would love it if you could recommend languages that you think have underrated music, I gotta explore more. When it comes to English........I pretty much only listen to sea shanties, and I won't bring it up unless you do XD

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Japan and went to a girls bar to practice Japanese......as in, I spent an hour being stared at by 5 catgirl maids as I tried to make conversation in broken Japanese. Most embarassing moment of my life, but great language practice, 10/10, would recommend
