About Me

My name is Kubwimana Dieudonne, a 24-year-old university finalist from Rwanda, currently completing my Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communication. I am interested in visiting Canada between August 15 and September 15, 2025 for tourism, cultural exchange, and to explore future opportunities.

I am a responsible and open-minded guest who is eager to learn about Canadian culture and share my Rwandan culture as well. I’d be very grateful if you could host me for a few days or assist with an invitation letter.

Thank you for considering my request!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing because I believe in cultural exchange, friendship, and the kindness that exists around the world. I love meeting new people, learning from different cultures, and sharing stories about life in Rwanda and Africa.

My dream is to visit Canada for the first time, experience life there, and learn from the people I meet. I’m hoping to connect with kind-hearted locals who are open to hosting or simply having a conversation. I’m respectful, open-minded, and eager to learn.

Couchsurfing, for me, is not just a place to find a bed — it’s about building human connections and creating beautiful memories across the world.

Thank you for reading my story, and I hope we can connect!

Music, Movies, and Books

🎵 Music
I enjoy a mix of genres! I often listen to Afrobeat, reggae, R&B, and a bit of soul. Artists like Burna Boy, Sauti Sol, Lucky Dube, and John Legend are some of my favorites. Music helps me relax and connects me to different cultures.

🎬 Movies
I love inspirational and thought-provoking movies. Some of my favorites include The Pursuit of Happyness, Lion, Freedom Writers, and Slumdog Millionaire. I also enjoy documentaries and true stories that teach life lessons and open my mind to the world.

📚 Books
I'm passionate about books that talk about personal growth, communication, and real-life stories. A few favorites are The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Born a Crime by Trevor Noah, and Start With Why by Simon Sinek. I also enjoy reading about journalism, storytelling, and global cultures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I started a small wine production business in Rwanda using pineapples, which I learned from a local incubation center. Even though I didn’t have much capital, I turned my knowledge into a real product and shared it with my community. It taught me resilience, creativity, and the power of starting small but dreaming big.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a bit about Rwandan culture, traditional drinks like pineapple wine, and some basics of social media and communication since I’m studying Journalism and Communication. I’m also happy to share some Kinyarwanda or Kiswahili if you're interested in languages!

I’d love to learn about different cultures, how people live in other parts of the world, and maybe even pick up new cooking or life skills from my hosts or fellow travelers.

I enjoy sharing stories, positive energy, and helping with anything I can—whether it’s doing dishes, organizing things, or just being good company.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love sharing stories about Rwanda—its culture, traditions, and beautiful places. I can cook some simple Rwandan dishes or teach you about making pineapple wine, a special local drink I know well.

As a student of communication, I’m also happy to help with social media tips or language practice in English, Kinyarwanda, or Kiswahili.

I’m respectful, curious, and eager to learn from my hosts. I’m always ready to help around the house or contribute in any way I can during my stay.
