About Me

Hi there! My name is Diana Bekibaeva, and I'm a software engineer and masters student originally from Kyrgyzstan, but now residing in beautiful Poland. For the past few years, I've been exploring Europe and all its wonders, from the vibrant cities to the charming countryside.

When I'm not coding or studying, you can usually find me sipping on a delicious cup of coffee, getting my sweat on at the gym or shaking it off at a zumba class. I love immersing myself in different cultures and trying new things, whether it's sampling local cuisine, exploring the great outdoors or meeting new people.

As a couchsurfer, I'm eager to learn more about the local culture and make meaningful connections with fellow travelers. I'm happy to share my knowledge of Kyrgyzstan's nomadic culture and give recommendations for exploring Central Asian countries. Whether it's a quick visit or a longer stay, I'm excited to make the most out of every travel experience and create unforgettable memories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is the ultimate platform for me as a traveler seeking not just a place to sleep, but an immersive cultural experience. By connecting with locals, I can gain a deeper understanding of their customs, language, and way of life while sharing my own culture in return. Having traveled extensively, I know the importance of finding the best places to stay and making genuine connections with hosts and fellow travelers. As a Kyrgyz native living in Poland, I'm excited to introduce others to my nomadic culture and offer advice on exploring Central Asian countries. With Couchsurfing, I'm here to forge meaningful connections and create unforgettable memories.

Interests

I have a deep passion for exploring the world and experiencing all that it has to offer. I love immersing myself in new cultures, whether it's through visiting museums, art galleries, and architectural landmarks, or through indulging in local cuisine at cozy restaurants. I enjoy taking leisurely evening walks, and I find that it's the perfect way to soak up the local atmosphere and get a feel for the community.

In addition to cultural activities, I'm always looking for new ways to challenge myself and try new things. Whether it's hiking, riding horses, dancing, or swimming, I'm always up for an adventure. I have a curious mind and I love learning new things, which is why I speak more than 4 languages and am always open to learning more.

When it comes to discussions, I'm passionate about sharing ideas and engaging in deep conversations. I'm interested in psychology, philosophy, and topics related to emotions and mental health. I also have a keen interest in information technology and AI, and I enjoy staying up to date with the latest developments in these fields.

Overall, I believe that life is about experiencing everything that the world has to offer, and I'm always up for a new challenge or adventure. Whether it's exploring a new city, trying new activities, or engaging in deep conversations, I'm excited to share my passions with fellow Couchsurfing members and create meaningful connections along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to my favorite books, I am drawn to those that delve into the depths of human nature and explore complex political and philosophical questions. The works of Theodore Dreiser have had a profound impact on me, and I have read all of his books. I am also a fan of classic poetry and have spent countless hours immersed in the words of great poets like George Orwell and Jane Austen.

As for movies, I gravitate towards those that challenge me emotionally and intellectually. I find myself drawn to dramas, detective stories, and psychological thrillers that explore the human psyche in depth. I'm not a big fan of comedies, fantasy or melodramas, but I do love films that are based on true stories. Some of my favorites include Requiem for a Dream, Shutter Island, and Gaslight. However, my absolute favorite movie of all time is the Italian masterpiece, Life is Beautiful, which speaks to the resilience of the human spirit even in the darkest of times.
