I am trying to climb out of a rut! I've never left Alaska and I'd really love to explore the world in an unconventional way.

ABOUT ME

Growing up in Alaska makes it difficult for many people to explore the world and be social creatures that us human beings were meant to be... I'm trying to get out in the world and share many different experiences while meeting people.
Growing up here made me very out-doorsy and handy. I can do lots of practical things like sew my own clothes, knit sweaters and socks, and fish and survive in the wild, grow and maintain a garden, and keep the cabin fever at bay.
In general I'm a curious introvert who is looking to get outta the ice box!

PHILOSOPHY

I live to experience whatever life throws at me, good or bad, and do what I can to be of service to others along the way. I am also a strong believer in getting back to nature and a simpler way of living.

Interests

I love meeting new people and experiencing different cultures in the world in unconventional ways. Rather than observing another person's culture I'd like to experience it hands on.
A lot of my interests are hands on, like knitting, sewing, and exploring wild places. I loooove the outdoors! But I equally love city life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I particularly love jazz, but I will listen to anything, and give anything a chance. Movies take too much time from our lives and books barely fill my time anymore. However a good non-fiction book on the human brain or human culture always keeps my attention.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Growing up in Alaska I've spent a lot of time outdoors and the most amazing and gratifying thing for me is being able to catch my own dinner in the ocean and cook it that night while it's still fresh. The pure wilderness here is worth the effort to see and experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm an avid knitter and can sew basic clothes. I'm also a beginner with crochet, but no matter what level I'm at I'm always willing to learn more and share what I already know. I really like creating things from scratch, so farm life intrigues me and I'd love to learn everything about it.
