About Me

This year I graduated from International Relations department of Middle East Technical University in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Currently I am living in Portugal as a volunteer worker under European Voluntary Service.

I love my study area since it inspires me to see the world as whole. Of course, education is one thing but still it stays so technical. In order to experience practical there is only way: Travelling! That's why I want to see every single country in the world and broaden my horizon by getting familiar with all the cultures. I started my journey with Brazil, crossing the ocean and I hope it will continue with many.

If I were to talk about my personality; well, the best way for to recognize a person is to live with her/him but anyway I can tell that I am easy-going, caring, helpful-as much as I can :)-, open-minded, friendly, thrustworthy, ambitious and realistic person. My friends also say that I am calm and honest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that it is a good way to get know a culture closely since it gives opportunity to meet locals and spend time with them. In Brazil, I also stayed with local people and I have learnt a lot from them. Due to CS, I will find the chance to learn and explore more and more.

Interests

I love dancing so much! Since my childhood, I participated in many school performances. Recently, I don't have enough time to attend any because I devote myself to voluntary programs. I have taken Salsa lessons for 2 years and I want to improve my dance skill much more.

Furthermore, I love watching movies. Mostly, I like Hollywood but also I admire French, Italian and Indian cinemas. I suppose I have a good reputation on it because my friends ask my advices :) I also would like to take lessons upon this subject to advance my knowledge.

Music, Movies, and Books

You know, there are some types of people say that they cannot live without music. I guess, I am one of them. I can't pass a day without listening at least one or two songs. However, I cannot say my favorite genre because I listen almost all type of music. Choice of music I listen depends on my mood. That's why I am also having difficulty to count my favorite singers.

As I mentioned in former section I love watching movies but I can tell that horror, drama and romance are my favourite types.

I like reading books as well but honestly I am not a bookworm. I wish I could! My favorites are "Serenade" of Zülfü Livaneli, a Turkish writer and " Love in the time of Cholera" of Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Becoming a Global Citizen!

Last year, I joined AIESEC Exchange Program in Florianopolis, Brazil. After working for AIESEC Ankara for 6 months, I decided to take a chance in exchange. Then, I found myself in Brazil as being volunteer for teaching little kids there about dancing :)

Teach, Learn, Share

My motto is "Listen to learn more and teach what you learn". Only in this way I can challenge myself and be better. World is getting together by sharing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can talk about with them about any subject but preferably music, movie and dance :) Beside this, I can cook them -at least I can try :)- some local foods and prepare some local beverages.
