About Me

Keeping calm and carrying on...

Also, my boyfriend chronicles our traveling journey at www.clydemeetsworld.wordpress.com from Singapore to Croatia from Dec 14 to Dec 15. We love to keep our family and friends updated about our journey and keep in touch with everyone back home and with friends we met on the road. We also hope to inspire more people to backpack once in their life. It's not impossible but the courage to take the first step is always the hardest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Met a traveler on the road and she introduced it to us. That's how it all started...

Interests

West coast swing, the environment, languages, dessert, minimialism, young adult fantasy fiction (what? I've not grown out of it?! I know, right?? =P)

I love partner dancing (salsa, bachata, and west coast swing), although being on the road means i've had to stop social dancing for a while now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Young adult fantasy fiction. You're never too old for young adult fantasy fiction =P

Music: Whatever's playing on the radio. Regina Spektor.

Movies: Not a big movie fan, but i'll watch anything animated. Comedies too. Battlestar Galactica (old series but still worth a mention), The Flash, and...ermm...like i said...i dont watch a lot of movies!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled from Malaysia to Croatia by bus, train and a ferry ride with my boyfriend.

Our trip began in December 2014 and we've seen so much more of the world than we could have ever imagined. We've also met and made friends with so many amazing people from so many different countries.

It's been eye opening witnessing first hand what so many travellers from all over the world are accomplishing every day, and witnessing these people live their incredible dreams so bravely inspires me to dream bigger too. ☆☆☆

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope to learn a lot about the different types of food around the world. Not so much how they're prepared. More how they taste =P

Would also love to pick up a few more languages, like Russian and Japanese.

Mostly, i want to see the different ways people of different cultures live their lives, and hopefully share some my own local Malaysian/Singaporean culture with the people i meet too!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Tales and conversations..A laugh or two...A pot of tea, maybe..?

Want to hear stories of Malaysian students traveling to Singapore everyday to study? It's common for people living near the border and I had to carry my passport daily which also meant I can say I studied overseas since I was very young. Hahaha. But like everything in life, there is a price to pay... and...well, that's another story to tell for another day.
