About Me
PHILOSOPHY
I've learned not to take it too seriously.
I'm an eternal amateur- I've tried my hand at a lot of things- being a full time artist, working in artist run centres, stand up comedy (or some version thereof)... I'm currently working towards becoming a speech language pathologist, while working a series of oddjobs- including my own catering ventures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I really like meeting new people and love hosting- I can't always offer my couch, since I have 3 roommates and we live rather communally, but I can offer a good cup of tea ( I adore it), a hearty meal (can cater to dietary restrictions) and a hot shower. I can't think of anything better than crashing with like-minded folk on my trips outside Montreal and I promise to make you a lovely meal, be no maintenance and share a story or 2 if you want to hang out.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None through this site- just via friends when traveling and hosting in similar circumstances.
Interests
I'm interested in building autonomy, for myself and others. For me this includes building skill sets, knowledge bases. I'm a very empathic person, and I like figuring out ways to share that within a structure. I love drawing. I love community.

Music, Movies, and Books
Authors: 'Little Birds' by Anais Nin, 'Wild Sargasso Sea' by Jean Rhys, 'The Book of Disquiet' by Ferdinand Pessoa, 'The Rings of Saturn' by W.G Sebald, Borges, Mishima, Murakami, Ursula Leguin
Films: The Century of The Self & Brideshead Revisited (actually both BBC series), The Mystery of the Organism, Beyond the Black Rainbow
Music: Arthur Russell, David Bowie, Arca, Mozart's Sister, Majical Cloudz
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I co-founded the League of Lady Wrestlers of Montreal- a band of band ass babes that take to the ring and use it as a platform to work out whatever they want to. Self-representation, healing through glamour and performance.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about fermentation, about language, psychology, art (particularly 70's feminist video stuff), figure drawing, a couple wrestling moves. I'm a good cook and have taken to catering this year- I love fresh food made with love and I'm happiest to share that with you, as well as showing you how to prepare/recipes etc... I'm half-Indian, and sharing my history through food gives me a lot of joy. And the Dutch half of me flips a perfect stack of crepes.
I'd like to learn more about mycology, gardening, building things, bikes- skills, skills, skills.
I've flirted with yoga and meditation for years- I like sharing what I know and I'm eager to know more.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As I mentioned before, fooooooooood. Also possibly $$. Stories galore. Space. Respect. Cleaning, yardwork, babysitting, dog walking, errands. A proper shoulder rub.
