About Me

Hi! I'm Dipak Patel — a Physical Therapist with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I grew up in India and moved to the U.S. to pursue higher education. I completed my Master’s degree in San Jose, California and later earned my Doctorate from Utica, New York.

I lived in Michigan for 13 years, working as a licensed physical therapist. In 2023, I decided to return to India to be closer to family and explore life with a new perspective.

I enjoy meeting people from different cultures, sharing life stories, and learning from each other. I’m easygoing, respectful, and always up for good conversations over a cup of tea or coffee. Whether you're into exploring cities, talking about health and wellness, or just looking for a calm and friendly host or guest, I’d love to connect.

Looking forward to exchanging experiences and making meaningful connections on the road!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Having lived in both the U.S. and India, I've come to appreciate how much we can learn from others when we open our homes and hearts. Whether I'm hosting or traveling, I enjoy meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and making friends from around the world.

I believe that travel is about more than just visiting places — it's about connecting with people, understanding different cultures, and sharing experiences. Couchsurfing offers a unique opportunity to meet locals, learn from fellow travelers, and create genuine human connections that you don't find in typical tourist experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies that are inspiring, emotional, or based on real-life stories. Some of my all-time favorites include:

The Pursuit of Happyness

Forrest Gump

Cast Away

A Beautiful Mind

The Shawshank Redemption

The Theory of Everything

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is building a life from scratch in a new country. Moving from India to the U.S. for higher studies — without knowing anyone — was a big leap of faith. I completed my Master’s and Doctorate in Physical Therapy, built a career, and lived independently for over a decade in Michigan. It taught me resilience, adaptability, and the power of believing in yourself. That journey shaped who I am today

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m always happy to share good conversation, cultural stories from both India and the U.S., and my experiences as a physical therapist. I enjoy listening as much as sharing, and I’m always curious to learn about other people’s lives and perspectives.
