Overview
About Me
Hey, I’m Dipayan, based in Kathmandu.
I come from a family that’s been in the hospitality business for over 30 years, so welcoming people has always felt natural to me. I work around hospitality, travel, and social projects, which means I’m constantly meeting people from different backgrounds and swapping stories.
I enjoy good conversations, shared meals, and helping travelers experience Kathmandu beyond just the highlights. Sometimes that’s exploring local spots, sometimes it’s just sitting down with tea and talking about life, travel, and everything in between.
I value respect, openness, and good energy. If you’re curious, easygoing, and up for genuine exchanges, you’re very welcome here 🙂
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe travel is about people, not just places. Some of my best experiences have come from simple conversations, shared meals, and exchanging stories with people from different parts of the world.
Living in Kathmandu and coming from a hospitality background, I enjoy helping travelers feel comfortable and experience the city beyond just a checklist. Couchsurfing feels like a natural space for genuine connections, cultural exchange, and meeting people with curiosity and good energy.
That’s really it — real people, real conversations, and meaningful exchanges.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can share and teach you about Nepalese culture, traditions, and daily life — from local customs and festivals to history and ways of living. I’m also happy to introduce you to Nepalese food, recommend good local spots, or explain what’s on your plate (and why we eat it that way).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m always happy to help in any way I can — whether that’s helping around the property, keeping things clean and organized, or lending a hand with daily tasks. I’m respectful of house rules, mindful of shared spaces, and easy to live with.
I can also offer good conversation, cultural exchange, and stories from Nepal, along with genuine curiosity about where I’m staying. If there’s something specific you need help with, I’m open to learning and doing my part.
