Overview
About Me
Hi!!! I am Disha and I am that person whose step count is off the charts while travelling, who compulsively takes public transport, and eats a lot of street food.
I have a degree in Tourism and Travel Management, and I have been working for various travel companies for the past few years. I used to work as a tour guide in Mumbai before moving to China in 2024.
I was studying Mandarin in China for 10 months and I absolutely loved my time there. That's also where I first started couchsurfing and met some amazing people.
I live in Bangalore now and work remotely. I am looking forward to meeting anyone traveling to Bangalore until I start traveling again!
I follow the norms of responsible tourism.
I am a vegetarian but I respect all lifestyle choices. I always clean up after myself. I am a feminist.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I created an account on Couchsurfing when I was a student with no income and could only do budget travel. But, my experience with the app has been so good, that I have started relying on it for half of my social life! I love meeting people from around the world and some of the best ones are on this app!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to all genres from old and new Bollywood songs to old and new English songs. My favourite English songs are Total Eclipse of the Heart and I Want It That Way. I mostly listen to Chinese OST but my favourite song is 童话.
I watch a lot of MCU, Pixar and Disney movies. I love watching horror movies!
I would choose books over movies. I don't have a favourite genre but I love discussing books like 1984, Animal Farm, Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice, Sherlock Holmes, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My life so far has mostly been very conventional and uneventful. I lived with my parents until September 2024 (as is the norm in India), grew up, studied, and worked in the same city. It was only in 2024 that I decided I wanted to move out and live by myself. I got a scholarship to study in China and I am pretty satisfied with myself. The only truly amazing thing I can think of though is the solo trek I went on in April 2024 on the Himalayas. That was quite an adventure.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am definitely interested in language exchange. I can speak English well and I would like to learn Mandarin or any other language the host speaks.
I am also a decent cook and would happily make Indian food for the host.
I also love dancing and can teach Bollywood dance.
I am up for learning everything and anything.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Family recipes of Indian food if my host is interested in food. I can cook for them and clean up after. While I might not immediately have Indian souvenirs on me, I would definitely send it to them later.
