I am Dishant, A teacher by profession, a performer by heart. I teach Writing and Production to Animation Students. I love Ghazals, Spoken word, Rap, you name the form of poetry and I may have meddled with it. I am active within the Pune's Writing and Poetry communities.
I wish to be able to afford being a writer full time.
Nothing motivates me as much as a having a good conversation. Humor is both my love language and a defense mechanism. You'll find me watching plays, attending festivals or organising/Hosting some event round the week.
I am trying to up my game in travelling since the last couple of years, so I am always on the lookout for some workshops or work to do in other cities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To find like minded people, to share good experiences, To be a fun character in somebody's story. I know how it feels to meet good and kind people on a trip, I have had the fortune as well, so only trying to return the same.

Interests

I am really a jack when it comes to things I like. I have always found passion to be contagious and I quickly develop a liking for something. I have a very diverse range of interests, from solving cubes and puzzles to going out as a social butterfly, meeting new people, listening to them.
Practicing music really humbles me, I try to take as much time I can to work on my music.
Being in a film and Animation background, watching movies is almost like work now. I eat movies for dinner. I love talking about directors and their styles, stories from cinema, etc.
Love reading books every now and then.
I haven't sketched in a long while but I used to do portraits when I was a student.

Music, Movies, and Books

A man called Ove, the Book thief, Vir Das's outsider are my recent favourite books. I love all kinds of music from Jagjit Singh to Eminem! 😂 And there's not enough space here if I start talking about the movies and directors I like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To Perform for a full house Yashwantrao Auditorium(famous in Pune.) at 12:30 in the night! (My DP is from that). Also, My first standup open mic where I made 30-35 strangers laugh, nothing like that first wave of laughter when it hits you. That joy is all that I chase through all my endeavours.

Can Teach you how to write a poem, to solve a rubiks cube or Some light Music theory on a keyboard. I am currently learning Music and Tabla.
I love languages and dialects.
