When I travel I am free.
Well, I was born and raised in the mountains of North Carolina, in a very small town close to the border of both Tennessee, and Georgia. I still live in the area, and while I love it here I've come to terms that I'm a travel junkie. I love meeting new people, and find that my wanderlust just keeps growing more with each day that passes.
I'm a full time professional photographer, and do contract work for various colleges and companies in addition to portraiture and weddings. I also have another small business that I have been doing for about a year called Knitwicks, in which I make & sell handmade soy wax candles and knitted goods. I have a variety of interest, and the list gets longer everyday. There are so many things that I want to do that I find it hard to find any time to do any of it.
I'm obsessed with reading, and finding books in used book stores, basically anything to do with books and I'm there! I've actually been known to plan vacations around book sales that are going on in other states. I love knitting, and all different kinds of crafts, and arts, but I never seem to have the time to do all the things that I want to do.
I love baking & cooking, but refuse to cook anything with beans it it. I hate them, no amount of flourish will get me to eat beans.
I'm outgoing yet laid back, I enjoy quiet time, but I also enjoy meeting new people. I love exploring, especially new places. My friends say that I'm quirky, fun, and usually up for trying new and different things.
CouchSurfing was introduced to me by a friend and the way I traveled forever changed. I am a firm believer that everyone should try couch surfing or couch hosting once in the lives, it's be an amazing experience for me all around.
Live while you can, when you can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately I cannot currently host, but I am more than happy to meet with anyone passing through or help them if I can.
I've both surfed and hosted and loved both experiences equally. Couchsurfing is just so much fun!
Scavanging thrift stores
Knitting & Crochetting
Movies, no horror movies, or anything that even remotely looks scary.
There are really a lot of different things I'm interested in, so it would take a really long time to list everything. So I'm just going list this stuff for now and if I end up meeting you someday then I can tell you more then!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My lifelong dream of going to Ireland came true this year, and the whole trip was just amazing. The Giant's Causeway and the Cliffs of Moher were awe inspiring.
Teach, Learn, Share
I try to share my experiences and what knowledge I have to help others with whatever they might need help with.
I'm more than happy to help those who are interested in photography, I'm well experienced with most aspects of the field, and have taught both college level, as well as, other adult photography classes.
I'm also a pretty good cook and baker; I'm very creative, and try to be a bit of a MacGyver when I can.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like being a good guest, in fact I try really hard to be a considerate guest so if there's something I can do like cook dinner one evening or help in some way I'm up for it.
