About Me

After years of Couchsurfing silence, I’m finally reactivating my account! Back in the day, I used to travel almost only through Couchsurfing and even more often via Hospitality Club (yep, oldschool vibes!).

Then life shifted: I started a family, and hosting took a backseat. But now, we’ve got more space again — and our daughter is curious and ready to welcome guests from around the world. We’re excited to open our home once more, share stories, cook meals together, and enjoy that special connection that makes Couchsurfing more than just a place to sleep.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I miss the good old days of wild maps, shared meals with total strangers, and the unique feeling of instantly connecting across cultures, all without booking fees. Time to get back in the game.
Don't hesitate to ask for the couch and our family council will take place. And since we’re a family with work and school schedules, it’s best to contact us well in advance, ideally around 10 days before your planned arrival. That way we can plan things properly and make sure we have time for you.

Interests

First and foremost, I’m a family person. Life with my partner and our daughter is the center of everything. Besides that, I enjoy the simple, real things in life: meeting people, sharing food, and making connections that don’t require an app to maintain. Travelling aourn in Europe, Music (more listening than playing), cooking and gardening are big parts of my life, especially my beloved chili plants. The hotter, the better. I also like wandering through forests in the hunt of mushrooms, sometimes I even find some and hiking into the mountains to reset my brain in fresh air and silence (and zero phone signal).

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m really into metal music, but im not screaming and growling, just happily listening to it. I go to concerts and festivals around, but don’t worry: you won’t be woken up by blast beats or demonic vocals in the morning (unless that’s your thing). That said, I actually enjoy all kinds of music, depending on the mood. I’m always open to discovering new sounds, from acoustic to electronic and anything in between.
When it comes to movies and books... honestly, I can't pick just a few. From timeless classics to new stuff, arthouse to action, fiction to philosophy... it all depends on the moment. So yeah, tricky question… but fun to talk about over a drink!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On my last big Couchsurfing & Hospitality Club trip through Eastern Europe, I met a stranger on a night train from Crimea to Kyiv, it was my last days before heading home. We talked, laughed, shared stories and somehow that night changed everything. Fast forward 15 years: she's now my wife, we're still happily together, and living in Basel with our daughter. Not bad for a train ride in the 3rd class , right?
