About Me

ABOUT ME

Asking people to describe themselves is probably the worst way to get to know them. Apparently the best way is to go through their trash because garbage doesn't lie. Since you have no access to my trashcan (or at least I hope you don't) I'll have to write down a couple of facts. I studied English Language and Literature at university, I have a wide array of interests and I enjoy learning new things and gaining new skills so it's always good to meet new people in order to expand your horizon.

PHILOSOPHY

Never stop learning! I think that life has no purpose whatsoever so people should use their time here, which is very limited, to do whatever makes them happy (as long as that doesn't mean harming others).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a host - I love meeting new random people and introducing my country/city/culture to them, as well as learning about their own. Personally, I think that Couchsurfing is not only about free accommodation but also meeting locals and sharing experiences, culture and knowledge with them. That's why I prefer hosting when I can spare some time to hang out with the guests and if possible to welcome them with home-cooked Serbian food.

As a guest - I like to learn about the place I'm visiting through the eyes of a local, especially when it comes to latest issues. In addition to that, I usually travel alone so if I'm completely on my own for a few days I start to feel lonely. After taking a couple of trips where I didn't use Couchsurfing it made me realize that what makes trips memorable often aren't the places that you visit but the people you spend time with along the way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

By the time I turned 19 I had lived in 4 different countries without changing my place of residence.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about history so I can make a decent tourist guide (at least if you consider the fact that I'm free!).
If you like hiking or rock climbing, I can take you to mountains near my city
At home, I can show you some old crafts (parchment making, wool felting, some basic blacksmithing and leatherworking) and you can try throwing axes
I have an 80-year-old cottage which I am currently renovating by myself on a mountain about 45 km away so if you want to get away from the city maybe we can spend a day there. Or a night, if you're feeling adventurous haha

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey
