About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Maximizing empathy, learning new skills on my own, experiencing the world in the present, and meeting interesting people along the way. Planning a move to New Orleans in October 2016 and hoping to couch surf for a few weeks when I arrive.

ABOUT ME

Twenty-something living in VA striving toward fulfillment. I've only just recently started to feel like a grown-up. Mild-mannered, silly at heart, love to chat about whatever is on the mind or just share a quiet moment.

PHILOSOPHY

It changes every day. I'm always open.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have couch-surfed before and have hosted surfers when I lived in DC. I like meeting new people from all over. I'd like to couch-surf for a few weeks when I move to New Orleans in October 2016 while I look for a place and a job. Not hosting at the moment, but will in the future.

Interests

Running, cycling, dancing, yoga, using my body and staying active. Concert-going, music-listening. Nature, science, camping, fossils, hiking, natural history, mountains, rocks. Books, hot summer days, queer stuff, cats, traveling, booze, coffee, tinkering with my bike and car, sharing good experiences with people I love, people-watching, chatting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Stories We Tell. Documentaries, scary movies, post-apocalyptic shit.

Music: Björk, Broken Social Scene, dancey music, chill music, everything!

Books: On Beauty, Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man, Kafka on the Shore, working on expanding my library and dedicating more time for reading, so suggestions always welcome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I biked 1600 miles from Bellingham, WA to San Diego, CA over the summer of 2015 and raised $1200 for a women's shelter in the process. I suffered just one flat tire and fell off my bike only once!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to juggle, or drive stick, or change the oil on your car, or basic bike maintenance. If you have any rocks or minerals lying around your house you've been dying to identify, I can probably help.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a decent line cook, and I keep things tidy.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
